Eighteen Annual Bosque National Art Competition - Clifton, Texas
The Eighteenth Annual Bosque National Art Competition, Exhibit and Sale, presented by the Bosque Conservatory and the Art Council, in Clifton, Texas, will open with Preview 2003 at 7 pm on September 13th. This event is by reservation only (254) 675-3724. Refreshments and a buffet will be served. Tickets are $25 per person.

Following the opening night ceremonies, the show will be open free to the public September 14th, 2:00 – 4:00 pm, September 20th from noon to 5:00 pm, and on the 21st from noon to 3:00 pm. Winners of this competition will receive awards totaling over $12,000 in several different categories of representational art. This judged and juried show includes artists from all over the United States. Several past winners of the $5,000 John Steven Jones Award have gone on to national prominence and are represented in major galleries across the country.

Entry deadline for artists' slides is July 1, 2003. $12.00 per slide. 18+ years old. Representation art only. Housed in the historic building of the Lutheran College, built in 1925, The Bosque Conservatory, founded in 1981, is a non- profit organization benefiting the arts.

We are now pleased to be inviting entries for this Competition and Exhibition.

Calling all science fiction, fantasy, horror, media, and astronomical artists!

We would like to cordially invite you to be a part of the Dragon*Con 2003 Art Show.  Dragon*Con is one of the largest annual Science Fiction and Fantasy theme conventions in the world with an average attendance of 20,000
people.  This year the Art Show, Artist Bazaar, Print Shop, and Digital Art Show will once again be located in the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

Application submission deadlines. This includes your application form, space payment and jury samples (if you did not meet the automatic jury pass criteria). There may be multiple rounds of jurying depending on space availability.

Round 1
Deadline for application March 1, 2003 Notification of acceptance or decline will be mailed on or before March 31, 2003. If accepted, the artist will receive a confirmation package with control sheets and bid sheets. If not accepted, the artist will get a letter of decline and will have their application form and space payment returned.

Round 2 (if required)
Announcement of a round 2 of jurying will be made on the DragonCon web site and the Art Shows Yahoo group on April 1, 2003. Deadline for application May 1, 2003 Notification of acceptance or decline will be mailed on or before May 31, 2003.

Round 3 (if required)
Announcement of a round 3 of jurying will be made on the DragonCon web site and the Art Shows Yahoo group on June 1, 2003. Deadline for application July 1, 2003 Notification of acceptance or decline will be mailed on or before July 31, 2003.

The 2003 Soho International Art Competition
Celebrating its 18th year, the 2003 Soho International Art Competition is open to artists of all nationalities and artists working in all media.

15-20 Artists will be selected by an outside judge to participate in a Group exhibition. Other awards include Cash and Free Internet Publication on www.art-mine.com

The exhibition will take place July 25th - August 14th, 2003 at Agora Gallery- www.agora-gallery.com

Deadline for Submissions- March 7, 2003

Competition fee -There is a $35.00 entry fee for 1-5 visuals (slides or photographs) and $5 for each additional visual. Competition fee is non-refundable.

The Spirit of Llyn Art Competition
Based on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula in northwest Wales - UK, is an inaugural event, with great prizes on offer.

The competition will close with a special 4-day festival in February 2003. This will be followed by an exhibition of selected works at Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw Arts Centre at Llanbedrog.

Sir Kyffin Williams will lead the panel of judges.

Open to Paintings and sculptures. Entrants must be 18 or over.

1st prize - £2,000
2nd - £1,000
People's Choice - £250
Students Prize - £250 (Must be in full time education)

The entry fee is £7:50 pr. works entered - max of 3 entries.

2003 International Juried Online Symbolist Art Show
2003 International Juried Online Symbolist Art Show
"The Mythic Quest"
(March 1, 2003 Entry Deadline)


Artists are invited to enter the 2003 International Juried Online Symbolist Art Show. The theme, "The Mythic Quest", encourages artists to symbolically explore their journey through life.

The 2002 event, "The Dreamer and the Dreamed", attracted more than 200 entries from 19 countries, with $1,225 in cash prizes awarded. It can be currently viewed at http://www.dracoblu.com/symbolistshow.html

The 2003 show is open to artists and art students. Painting, printmaking, photography, drawing, digital and sculpture are acceptable media. The distinguished jury for the event includes: 

Thomas Moore, noted American author of the bestseller Care of the Soul.

Julia Kerr, founder of the online virtual gallery ArtMagick.

Joel Geolamen, Filipino artist and 2002 finalist

The entry fee is 15.00 dollars / sterling for artists or 5.00 dollars / sterling for art students. Canadian, US, Euro or UK Sterling are accepted currencies. Credit card payments can be made online via PayPal.
